Communications
The Weston Police Department Communications Division handles all incoming calls,
including the 911 lines and the police non-emergency lines. All calls to the Weston
Police Department are recorded for legal purposes. The dispatchers working in the
Communications Division are trained E-911 operators in addition to having been trained
in emergency call handling.
Communications personnel are responsible for dispatching the Weston Police sector
cars to all calls including assisting the Weston Fire Department on all medical and
fire related calls. The Weston Police Department Communications Division is staffed
by four Civilian Dispatchers.
In addition to the E-911 system, the communications center is also home to the
Microsystems in house computer, the Mobile Data Terminal server, the LEAPS/NCIC database
terminal and Holding cell monitors.
